Fossil Crinoid Plaque

These fossil crinoids from Morocco are over 450 million years old!  While these beautiful specimens may look like plants, they are actually marine animals.  Crinoids, also known as sea lilies, are related to starfish and sea urchins.  While the ancient ocean floor was once covered in "forests" of crinoids, most of these creatures have become extinct.  

These fossils are exquisite modern-day works of art!
