Translucent Agate Slice

The translucency of this stone is incredible!  Place it close to a light or window to truly appreciate the intricate beauty of this piece.   

Agate is a rock formation consisting primarily of chalcedony and quartz.  Agate is typically formed from layers of silica which are deposited in volcanic vesicles or cavities.  The layers are formed in stages which provide the hallmark alternating color bands. 

Slice is polished on both sides.  As this is a natural gemstone, some irregularities in shape and finish are normal.  Stand is included.
