Agate is a rock formation consisting primarily of chalcedony and quartz. Agate is typically formed from layers of silica which are deposited in volcanic vesicles or cavities. The layers are formed in stages which provide the hallmark alternating color bands.  This piece has been carefully split in half to reveal an exquisite amethyst druzy center.  

Halves can be displayed flat or on stands.  Metal Stands included.
